These “Train-the-Trainer” workshops are intended for individuals who have a basic understanding of the Clean Air Act (CAA) and are working with communities to improve air quality. The workshops are designed to enhance environmental justice advocates’ capacity to help community members engage more effectively in the development and implementation of the CAA programs and regulations and in the permitting processes.
These workshops will focus on how participants can use existing training materials to tailor community-specific training programs and how they can engage effectively in EPA’s rulemaking process, in state implementation of federal Clean Air programs, and in federal, state, and local air permitting processes. This training will also provide a primer on Clean Air Act provisions and will give participants a chance to interact with key EPA staff as well as other NGOs and community-based organizations.
